THIS IS.

SUMMER IS A DISTANT MEMORY

A brief summer vacation brought me to neighboring Wisconsin for a little R&R. The fish above was caught on the wall of Pelletier's Restaurant in the appropriately named town of Fish Creek. The shot on the left is of Green Bay near Gills Rock. I will soon post some more photos from the trip but until then here's a word about Fish Creek. Riding through Peninsula State Park was great. Winding through the shoreline paths that linked small coastal villages was a delight.

It was a ride up to the tip of the pennisula that brought me to Europe Lake from Ephraim toward the Lake Michigan side. Door County which comprises the majority of the peninsula derives its name from the French appelation of "Porte de la Mort" (the door of death) which stems from the many shipwrecks that occured in and around the coastal area.

There are color theories about why barns are red. As I look at this picture it dawns on me that the three predominate colors present happen to be the the primary colors of the additive color system. The three colors of light that make your color television work (or your computer screen) are Green, Blue, and Red. "Can you see me now?"

This was my favorite movie of the summer. I've read a lot of reviews that were luke warm to positive but I thought it was a greatly entertaining movie that was not boring or predictable. All actors were excellent. I'm an Alan Arkin fan from way back.

Listening to..
